About Lynetta
I am a certified educator with a master's degree and more than 15 years of teaching experience, including special education and individualized instruction for students with diverse learning abilities and educational needs.
My background in education has given me a strong understanding of how children develop foundational mathematical skills and how important those early experiences are to their long-term academic success.
I specialize in helping Pre-K through 6th grade students strengthen their mathematical understanding through patient, structured, and engaging instruction. I am familiar with Oklahoma's Mathematics Academic Standards and the importance of developing skills across Numbers and Operations, Algebraic Reasoning, Geometry and Measurement, and Data and Probability.
I recognize that every child learns differently. Some students need additional time and encouragement, while others benefit from enrichment and more challenging activities. My approach focuses on meeting students where they are academically and helping them progress at a comfortable, productive pace.
I believe mathematics should be understandable, approachable, and even enjoyable. My goal is to help students build confidence, develop independent problem-solving skills, and establish a strong mathematical foundation that supports future academic success.

My mathematics tutoring lessons are designed specifically for students in Pre-K through 6th grade who need additional support, reinforcement, or enrichment in foundational math skills.
Instruction is aligned with the four core strands of Oklahoma's Mathematics Academic Standards:
Numbers and Operations (N): Number recognition, counting, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
Algebraic Reasoning and Algebra (A): Patterns, mathematical relationships, problem-solving, and introductory algebraic thinking.
Geometry and Measurement (GM): Shapes, spatial reasoning, measurement, time, money, and foundational geometric concepts.
Data and Probability (D): Collecting and interpreting data, reading graphs, organizing information, and understanding basic probability concepts.
Each lesson is personalized to the student's grade level, learning style, abilities, and individual educational goals.
My teaching approach incorporates hands-on activities, visual demonstrations, guided practice, real-world applications, and positive reinforcement. I focus on helping students understand mathematical concepts rather than simply memorize procedures.
With more than 15 years of teaching experience, including special education, I understand the importance of adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs.
My goal is to strengthen mathematical foundations, reduce frustration, develop independent problem-solving skills, and help students approach mathematics with greater confidence.
