About Afrina
Hello parents or students! My name is Afrina — a qualified and experienced tutor with a strong academic background in Counselling, Psychology, and Science. I specialize in providing personalized, supportive, and results-driven tutoring for students in Mathematics, English, Science, Biology, History, and Malay language, across both local (KSSR, KSSM) and international (Cambridge) curricula.
I have a Master’s Degree in Counselling (Universiti Sains Malaysia)and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience (University of Nottingham).
My background involves a proven teaching experience with primary and secondary students, including exam-level preparation. I have an expertise in understanding students’ learning styles and emotional needs. I am also patient, caring, and committed to building both academic skills and self-confidence for students.
As both an educator and a trained counsellor, I understand that every child learns differently. My approach goes beyond just teaching the syllabus — I work to boost your child’s motivation, reduce anxiety, and help them enjoy the learning process. Regular progress updates and open communication ensure you’re always informed about your child’s development.

Since 2018, I have been helping students from primary to diploma level through personalized one-to-one lessons. My approach makes the student feel comfortable to ask questions and learn at their own pace, without pressure.
I focus on:-
1) Clear, detailed explanations
2) Guided exercises together
3) Consistent revision for strong retention
Sessions are flexible, typically 1 to 2 hours depending on the topic's difficulty. My goal is simple, build understanding, confidence and academic success in every success.
