About Edward
As a newly qualified teacher, with a 1:1 honours degree in Primary Education specialising in years 5-11, I am aware of the significant emphasis that is put on achievement based results. However, I believe that we achieve the most when we are enjoying ourselves and enjoying the challenge of learning in a creative and immersive way based on current learning theory.
I embody a relaxed and nurturing role that allows my clients to achieve through fun and challenging methods of learning. I aim to enhance the learning process through exciting resources and challenges that place the learner at the centre of their educational career.
I am an adaptable, patient and understanding person who is willing to tailer the learning to the individual with specific goals and targets that are challenging but achievable. If you are learning with it will be a fun, engaging and safe learning space that allows you to develop a deeper/more secure knowledge of your chosen subject.

I believe in a relaxed and creative learning environment with challenging tasks that are tailored to each individuals needs based on the national curriculum guidance. I can offer high quality tutoring using a range of resources to develop a mastery of subjects that challenge and grow my pupils.
English:
- I use a varied range of inclusive and up to date texts to base meaningful work around that practises key SPaG skills and writing skills.
- I am phonics trained and I am very comfortable using new theory to underpin my teaching such as chunking, segmenting and blending.
-Challenge questions that link specifically to previous exam questions which underpins confidence and competence in formal assessments.
Maths:
-I base my learning from concrete, pictoral and abstract learning theory. This method underpins mastery in Maths and allows for more explorative maths practices/challenges.
-Exploring problem solving and reasoning questions with specific focus to previous exam questions.
-Times table support with trick methods focusing on patterns and repetition.
Reading:
-Using guided reading questions based on a varied amount of fiction and non-fiction texts.
-Particular focus on question breakdown and how to identify and structure your response relating for the questions.
-Master class in reasoning, evidence and inference using the text as the main resource to structure answers.
Foundation subjects including Science:
-Using the national curriculum as a guide, I will create a series of planned learning that dives deeply into the topics and explores the subject through an investigatory lens.
-Safe at home scientific experiments with focus on the scientific process and experimental problem solving and reasoning.
