About Barbara
Hello! I have been a Primary teacher for 20 years and started tutoring from home 2 years ago which has been extremely successful. I work in a high achieving primary school in Scotland and have experience of all ages of primary children. My approach is always child-centred: I believe every child learns in their own way, and I adapt my lessons to suit their individual needs, abilities, and confidence levels. I use fun, interactive methods to keep children engaged — from games and puzzles to practical problem-solving activities — so that learning feels enjoyable, not stressful. Over the years, I have helped children to: • Build confidence in their learning • Improve key skills in reading, writing, and maths • Prepare successfully for SATs and 11+ entrance exams • Develop a love of learning that carries into the classroom.
