Hello! My name is Kamsathvani, and I’m an experienced Veena and Tamil teacher offering private lessons specially designed for children aged 6 and above. I have over 10 years of experience in Carnatic music and Tamil being my native language. I have a gentle, encouraging approach that helps young learners build confidence while enjoying the learning process. My teaching style combines traditional methods with child-friendly techniques that make learning the Veena and Tamil both fun and meaningful. I teach Carnatic Veena in a way that blends traditional South Indian methods with modern, student-friendly techniques, ensuring both children and adults develop strong musical foundations and confidence in performance. Teaching Methodology & Techniques I follow a structured approach, starting with basic swaras, posture, hand placement, and rhythm patterns. For beginners, I focus on simple swaravarisaigal, geethams and varnams, progressing gradually to krithis and advanced songs. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, goals, and musical background, with a balance of theory, technique, and creativity. I provide notation sheets, audio practice clips, and individual feedback between sessions. Lesson Format Lessons are typically 30 to 60 minutes long. They are offered in-person in Aylesbury or online via Zoom, depending on student preference. Regular practice routines and achievable goals are set after each class. Qualifications & Experience I have over 10 years of experience learning and performing Carnatic Veena under reputed gurus. I have performed at local cultural events and temple programmes. Who Can Join? All levels welcome – from complete beginners to intermediate players wishing to refine technique or expand their repertoire. Suitable for children (6+), teenagers, and adults. Lessons can be hobby-based or exam-focused (Trinity/ABRSM/Carnatic board).
