About Preston
My name is Preston Gomersall, and I am currently pursuing my graduate degree in Aerospace Engineering at UC San Diego. I have a passion for propulsion, fluid mechanics and Computational Fluid Dynamics. I am currently researching turbofan and turbojet engines with funding from the Undergraduate Research Hub at UCSD. During my free time I enjoy playing golf at Torrey Pines, going for a surf at Black's beach, or playing chess with the local San Diego Chess CLub at Balboa park.

My objective is to teach my students the fundamental principles of chess and also to instill in them the valuable problem-solving skills it creates. As a graduate student in Aerospace Engineering at UCSD, I regularly grapple with a diverse array of challenges that demand creative solutions. Chess, with its dynamic and strategic nature, serves as an excellent platform for developing these skills. When approached with the right teaching method, chess can be an engaging and enriching experience, combining both enjoyment and education.
