About Pedro Otávio
I am a professor of History from the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) in Niterói. I worked for two years as a trainee in the Department of Archives and Documentation (DAD) of Casa de Oswaldo Cruz (COC), an institute of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz). Both in my academic trajectory and in my traineeship, I learned how historical science is produced, paying attention to questions about the importance of memory and how the past is rescued in Brazilian society. These learnings guide the way I teach and the methodology chosen.
