About Lauren

Hello! My name is Lauren Hong and I am a tutor who genuinely enjoys helping students grow in their education while feeling more confident in their abilities. I have experience working with students with IEPs, ADHD, and other learning differences, and understand that every student learns differently. My goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace. I take the time to get to know each student and adapt my approach based on what works best for them. Outside of tutoring, I work full-time as a graphic designer, which has strengthened my creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills that I bring into my tutoring sessions. Whether you need help catching up, preparing for a test, staying organized, or simply building confidence in a subject, I’d love to work with you! :)

About the lesson

I believe students learn best when lessons are personalized, encouraging, and focused on understanding rather than memorization.

My teaching methods:

- Break down difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps
- Use examples, visuals, and different explanations depending on the student's learning style
- Practice problems together before having students work independently
- Encourage questions and create a comfortable, judgment-free environment
- Adjust the pace and difficulty based on each student's needs

A typical lesson:

- Review previous material and answer questions
- Introduce or explain the day's topic
- Work through examples together
- Practice independently with guidance
- Review key takeaways and areas to work on
- Provide optional homework or practice exercises

What sets me apart:
As a graphic designer, I bring a creative and visual approach to learning. I am patient, approachable, and focused on helping students build both their academic skills and confidence.

Who I tutor:

- Elementary school students
- Middle school students
- High school students
- Students looking for homework help, test preparation, or additional support with challenging subjects
