About Alexandra

I am an art therapist with a strong passion for languages and creative education. I speak English, French, and a bit of Spanish, and I am currently learning my fourth language, German. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and French Literature from McGill University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy from Concordia University.
My tutoring experience spans a wide range of learners. I have supported students aged 12 to 17 with homework help across all subjects, and I have tutored CEGEP students in Economics and Sociology. I also have experience helping anglophone high school students who struggle with French, guiding them in building confidence and improving their language skills.
I bring patience, curiosity, and a personalized approach to every session, ensuring that each student feels supported, encouraged, and motivated to learn.
Je suis art-thérapeute et passionnée par les langues et l'éducation créative. Je parle anglais, français et un peu espagnol, et j'apprends actuellement ma quatrième langue, l'allemand. Je suis titulaire d'un baccalauréat ès arts en psychologie et en littérature française de l'Université McGill, ainsi que d'une maîtrise en art-thérapie de l'Université Concordia.
Mon expérience en tutorat couvre un large éventail d'élèves. J'ai aidé des élèves âgés de 12 à 17 ans à faire leurs devoirs dans toutes les matières, et j'ai donné des cours particuliers à des étudiants du CEGEP en économie et en sociologie. J'ai également aidé des élèves du secondaire anglophones qui avaient des difficultés en français, en les guidant pour qu'ils prennent confiance en eux et améliorent leurs compétences linguistiques.
Je me distingue avec une approche valorisant patience, curiosité et bienveillance, personnalisée à chaque séance, afin que chaque élève se sente soutenu, encouragé et motivé à apprendre.

My teaching methods are adapted to the student’s needs. I believe that in order to succeed in any domain, intrinsic motivation is needed, therefore every session benefits from a customized curriculum tailored to the student’s personality and individual needs. Emphasis on a strong understanding of the grammatical rules, exercised through theoretical knowledge, but also via hands-on activities including an oral component. Can teach from any level between elementary to collegial level. Preparation offered for the MELS exam, DILF A1.1, DELF A1-A2, DELF B1-B2, DALF C1-C2.
Mes méthodes d'enseignement sont adaptées aux besoins de l'élève. Je crois que pour réussir dans n'importe quel domaine, il faut une motivation intrinsèque. C'est pourquoi chaque session bénéficie d'un programme personnalisé, adapté à la personnalité et aux besoins individuels de l'élève. L'accent est mis sur une bonne compréhension des règles grammaticales, acquise grâce à des connaissances théoriques, mais aussi à des activités pratiques, notamment orales. Je peux enseigner à tous les niveaux, du niveau élémentaire au niveau collégial. Préparation aux examens formels tels que le TOEFL également offerte.
