About Inês

I have been teaching for about five years, both continuous with a program and specific objectives, and as single sessions. The students I have had in any of the disciplines feel that in addition to developing the skills they have set, they develop others abilities they were not considering. They consider the class environment to be relaxed and enjoyable, learning while having fun.

I am Inês, an actress graduated in ACE (Academia Contemporânea do Espectáculo) and ESTC (Theatre and Cinema Lisbon School). Professionally I work in the theatrical environment of Lisbon, and I give classes on artistic matters or personal development, using the potential of theatrical tools.

My classes are defined by a base program that is customized to adapt to the needs and demands of each one. As they are personalized, they serve both a professional context, an amateur context, or a curious context, and are for all ages. The classes are taught in downtown Lisbon, with the possibility of classes at home. (In addition to private lessons, there is the possibility of group classes, ideal for schools, associations, companies).

To whom are the classes intended:
--- Have you always felt that you lean towards theater? Do you want a Theater-oriented theater space? Do you want to improve your Vocal Technique and Body Expression? Do you want to prepare for an audition? Do you just want to know more about Art and Theater? Do you want to know more about Art History or prepare for an exam?
--- Do you want to be more comfortable speaking in public? Do you want to boost your presence and communication, in a social or professional context?

If you have answered internally "Yes!" to any of them, try one of the following classes for free!

DESCRIPTION: Along with the knowledge of theatrical history, we do essential exercises that create the tools of an actor, looking at the expression of the body and the voice as a whole. We prepare monologues and excerpts or adaptations of pieces to be presented live.
METHODOLOGY: Through a theatrical chronology, from Ancient Mythology to the dissolution of genre borders in the present day, we practice and experience several methods.
OBJECTIVES: to develop skills of multipurpose actor, knowing the various theatrical approaches, to stimulate personal autonomy and artistic demand.

DESCRIPTION: In these classes we get to know the vocal apparatus and develop vocal technique: projection, locution, resonators and timbre colors, emotion in the voice, reading and dividing of ideas, prosody, images that are carried by words. METHODOLOGY: To connect the anatomical knowledge of the speech apparatus with the experience and physical memory of the spoken voice. In addition, the way the interlocutor communicates, expresses and captivates is analyzed and explored.
OBJECTIVES: Based on the student's personal goals, to develop an awareness that allows communication to be enhanced; provide tools so that the person can identify and resolve communication issues both day-to-day and in their profession.

DESCRIPTION: When we talk about Theater, among other things, we speak of verbal and non-verbal language and communication, of bodies that are able to transfigure themselves to say or show things, we speak of simulation of situations, of simulation and experience of emotions.
As actors, our work is to streamline these capacities and know how to recognize, analyze and use them. For this, the Theatrical Tools are also useful tools for Personal Development. Both in Personal Context - to relate to other human beings, to feel more confident with ourselves, to express ourselves better, to understand others better; as in Professional Context - how to negotiate better, understand what the other person thinks even if he does not say it, communicate with teammates in a more productive and less noisy way.
METHODOLOGY: In these classes, the methodology is defined according to what people seek and need. The classes are based on experimentation (demonstrations, exercises) and joint analysis of them, so that the person feels able to recognize and act on the issues that led to them to look for these classes. For the sake of looking inward and expanding out, inevitably, the people who do these classes feel that they know themselves better and feel that they have more power over their own lives.
OBJECTIVES: to construct a corporal, spatial and sonorous consciousness; develop attention and focus on what surrounds us; work on posture, confidence and attitude; strengthen communication; to be able to analyze both external situations and the body itself; establish a direct relationship between what the person wants to convey with his image.

DESCRIPTION: Theoretical classes on History of Art. METHODOLOGY: these classes are given from concrete examples of works and thoughts of the various movements, and are mainly thought of in a dynamic of appreciation for Art more than in an academic and theoretical dynamic.
OBJECTIVES: to create a mental chronology of the important movements and milestones of the History of Art, that allows to follow its evolutions throughout history; stimulate critical thinking; cross and oppose both movements and epochs with their historical-social contexts as with different artistic genres.
