About Giulio
I graduated with highest honors at the "A. Steffani" Conservatory in Castelfranco Veneto (Italy) under the guidance of Walter Vestidello. I attended several international cello masterclasses with Enrico Bronzi and Christian Poltéra, then I specialized in early music performance with Marco Testori at the "Mozarteum" University in Salzburg (Austria) and with Christophe Coin at the "Schola Cantorum Basiliensis" in Basel (Switzerland).
I have been collaborating with several groups and orchestras such as Accademia Bizantina (recording for te label Naive), Il Pomo d’Oro, Venice Baroque Orchestra (with Franco Fagioli), Fondazione Pietà de' Turchini in Napoli (recording for Outhere Music), Camerata Bachiensis, L’arsenale (contemporary music ensemble).
Together with violinist Claudio Rado and other musicians I founded Contrarco Baroque Ensemble, a group which performs music from the XVII and XVIII centuries on period instruments. With this group I partecipated in "Urbino Early Music Festival 2019", in "Alte Musik Live Berlin 2019" and in "Urbino Musica Antica 2019".
I also studied jazz harmony and improvisation with Saverio Tasca and from 2014 I have been playing in jazz quintet "Saverio tasca & AlterArco" (marimba and string quartet), with which he recorded for the label Velut Luna the CD "L'uomo che cammina".

During my lessons I adapt myself to the student and the type of musician in front of me. I like to deepen the technical side of the instrument, but the ultimate goal is to be able to use this technique to better express music in all its facets. Improvisation is an important element that I like to use in my lessons, so that the student can develop his own personal style.
