About Clara
Hi, I’m Clara, a professional cellist with a Master’s degree in performance, based in Montreal. I speak both French and English.
I have worked with orchestras, international artists and in studio recordings, which has allowed me to develop a strong and versatile musical experience.
As a child, I had the chance to learn from a wonderful music theory teacher who made me genuinely enjoy it. This experience shaped the way I teach today: I aim to make theory clear, engaging and connected to real music! Not something abstract or intimidating.
I am also the founder of my own teaching cello studio, where I support students from all ages and levels in their musical journey.
What I care about most is making learning feel accessible, structured and encouraging. Music theory can often feel overwhelming, especially if you’ve tried to learn on your own. My role is to guide you step by step and make everything click!
I’m patient, attentive and committed to adapting each lesson to your pace and your goals. Whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to go further, I’ll help you build confidence and real understanding.

My approach is simple: music theory should not feel abstract or confusing, it should help you understand and enjoy the music you play!
As a professional cellist with a Master’s degree in performance, I teach theory through real musical situations, not just rules on paper. My goal is to help you connect what you see, what you hear, and what you play.
A typical lesson is adapted to your level and goals, but often includes:
- clear explanations of key concepts (rhythm, reading, structure)
- practical exercises to apply immediately
- work on real pieces or examples to make theory concrete
- time for questions and adjustments based on your needs
My lessons are designed for:
- adult beginners who want a clear and structured approach
- self-taught musicians who feel stuck or confused with theory
- intermediate musicians who want to understand what they play and progress with confidence
I teach in French and English
