About Bekah
I am a professional Dancer, Teacher, and Choreographer. I studied Ballet at a conservatory and received my BFA from Codarts University in the Netherlands. I began my professional dance career in Europe and that is where I discovered yoga. It became a huge part of my body maintenance. I returned to the USA and began teaching dance/conditioning classes at various studios all across the Piedmont triad. My personal practice in yoga had become so strong during this time, and I was already teaching certain aspects of yoga in my conditioning classes that I decided I should becoming a certified yoga teacher. I received my 200 hr RYT from Asheville Yoga Center and since then have been busy guiding yoga classes at Wake Forest University, Humbled Warriors Yoga, and in private lessons.

I enjoy flow classes that get the body energized and warm before going into deep stretches. After all my years using my body as a dancer I know the importance of warming up muscles before asking them to stretch out. I focus on body alignment and posture within the asanas with some anatomical verbiage and like to talk about muscle energy of the body. I string together creative sequences that flow through some challenging poses. I believe a yoga class should leave you not only feeling restored, but like you got a really good work out. I emphasize breath in the movements, and sometimes focus on pranayama breath practice to end a lesson.
