About Sarah
Sarah is the piccolo player for the Fredericksburg Symphony and has performed with ensembles such as the Richmond Symphony, Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Allentown Symphony Orchestra, and Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, among others. She has been a prize winner and finalist for the Raleigh Area Flute Association and Central Ohio Flute Association Young Artist Competitions.
Sarah holds a Master of Music in Flute Performance from New England Conservatory, where she studied with Cynthia Meyers of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, as well a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she studied with Brooks de Wetter Smith. Currently on faculty at GreenSpring International Academy of Music, she has also taught at the annual Flute Fever Summer Camp in Harwood, MD, and has been a guest masterclass teacher at The Rivers School Conservatory in Weston, MA.

I believe in creating a warm and positive lesson environment for my students. I adapt my teaching process according to each student’s level, individual goals, and learning styles, but I will always focus on fundamentals, technique, and musicality. Consistent practice is important to me for my students, and I may assign listening projects in addition to practice assignments.
