About Joseph
My name is Joseph James and I am a young footballer in the EFL Championship. I realise that trying to make it in football is extremely difficult. Less than 0.1% of young footballers make it to the top levels of football. I have these sessions for the parents of aspiring footballers to help boost their young athletes' chances of getting picked to be in the team, being scouted by bigger clubs and performing at the top level.

This online tutoring session is designed specifically for young footballers looking to enhance their athletic performance through personalised nutritional advice and strength and conditioning coaching. Conducted via a virtual call, these sessions provide expert guidance on how to optimise both physical fitness and diet for peak performance on the field. Structure of the Session: 1. Introduction & Goal Setting (5-10 minutes): The session begins with a quick check-in where we discuss the young footballer’s current performance levels, training routine, and dietary habits. We will set specific goals for the session based on their individual needs—whether it's improving strength, endurance, recovery, or refining eating habits to fuel their training. 2. Nutritional Guidance (15-20 minutes): Nutrition plays a critical role in a footballer's ability to perform, recover, and prevent injury. During this part of the session, we will: - Assess current eating habits: I’ll guide the athlete to better understand their current nutrition and identify areas for improvement. - Tailored meal plans: Based on the player’s age, training intensity, and goals, I’ll recommend strategies for meal timing, macronutrient balance, and hydration. - Supplements and recovery foods: I’ll provide advice on supplements and foods that support recovery, enhance energy levels, and maintain optimal performance. - Practical advice: Tips on simple, nutritious meals that fit into a busy footballer’s routine. 3. Strength and Conditioning (15-20 minutes): Footballers require a combination of strength, power, endurance, and flexibility to excel on the field. In this segment, I’ll: - Create a conditioning plan: Based on the player’s position and athletic goals, I’ll design a customised strength and conditioning programme that includes exercises to improve agility, explosive power, speed, and muscular endurance. - Technique and form: We’ll go through key exercises with a focus on proper technique to ensure the athlete is training safely and effectively. - Recovery strategies: Advice on how to incorporate stretching, mobility work, and rest into their routine to avoid injury and maximise training benefits. 4. Progress Check & Feedback (5-10 minutes): I’ll review the player’s progress towards their goals, discussing what’s working well and where they might need to adjust their routine or nutrition. This is an opportunity to ask any questions or clarify any doubts they have about the strength training or nutritional strategies covered. 5. Action Plan & Next Steps (5-10 minutes): At the end of the session, I’ll outline a detailed action plan that includes: - Nutritional goals: A clear guide on what to focus on in the coming weeks to enhance diet and nutrition. - Training adjustments: Recommended tweaks to their strength and conditioning plan to address specific needs. - Next check-in date: I’ll schedule a monthly check-in to review progress, adjust the plan, and keep the athlete on track towards their performance goals. Ongoing Support: Monthly Check-ins & Action Plans In addition to the live tutoring session, we’ll set up monthly check-ins where we can evaluate the athlete’s progress, refine their training and nutrition plans, and address any challenges or changes. These check-ins will ensure consistent improvement and allow for adjustments based on the young footballer’s evolving needs.
