About Amelia
I’ve taught guitar for over 7 years and hold a Bachelor of Music in Studio Music and Jazz, Guitar Principal. I teach Electric, Acoustic, Classical, and Bass Guitar with a focus on media composition. Lessons explore atmospheric textures, thematic development, and sound design. Students learn to integrate guitar with digital audio workstations (DAWs) for film and video games. My teaching approach is student-centered and tailored for youth and adult learners. Sessions focus on melody, harmony, rhythm, and tone shaping. Students practice layering guitar parts and combining them with electronic and orchestral elements. I guide them in composing motifs, cues, and textures for cinematic storytelling. Creativity, experimentation, and problem-solving are emphasized. Lessons include hands-on performance and recording exercises. Students develop confidence in composing and performing music for visual media. Exercises reinforce technique and expressive artistry. Each session is practical and engaging. I encourage students to explore different genres and textures. Students gain skills to interpret and enhance visual storytelling. I focus on tone, phrasing, and musical expression. Lessons are tailored to individual goals and skill levels. My ultimate goal is helping students bring cinematic and gaming worlds to life through guitar.

I teach guitar with a focus on developing a strong musical ear. Lessons cover interval recognition, melodic dictation, and song transcription. I work closely with The Campfire Strummer and The Blues Seeker, tailoring exercises to their needs. Students learn to identify melodies, chord progressions, and rhythms by ear. Lessons combine listening, singing, and hands-on guitar exercises. I incorporate call-and-response and improvisation to reinforce learning. Students practice transcribing songs and analyzing musical structures. Each session is personalized to skill level and goals. Exercises build memory, pitch recognition, and harmonic awareness. Students are encouraged to practice regularly to strengthen aural skills. Lessons emphasize applying ear training in improvisation and composition. I provide guidance on reproducing melodies and harmonies accurately. Exercises integrate technical skill with musical intuition. Students develop confidence in hearing and playing music independently. Lessons are engaging, practical, and interactive. I focus on connecting theory with aural understanding. Students strengthen their ability to recognize subtle musical nuances. My goal is to help students unlock musical understanding and play by ear with confidence.
