About Julia
I've been thoroughly enjoying teaching and performing music professionally for 14+ years.
I'm proud to have built a versatile music career as a guitarist and bassist for several projects and tour nationally and internationally. I have shared stages with a range of artists including Y La Bamba, DeVotchKa, Lee Fields, Ingrid Michaelson, Elle King, and as fate would have it, Weird Al. Highlight performances and sessions include the Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks, NPR Tiny Desk, SXSW, KEXP, and KCRW.
I received my B.S. in Guitar Performance from the University of Colorado in 2013.

I offer lessons in guitar, bass, and music theory through a spectrum of genres including jazz, folk, rock, pop, and latin styles.
I love to create a supportive and stimulating learning environment that nurtures creativity, confidence, critical thinking, and self-expression.
I design personalized lesson plans by blending a mix of approaches, tailoring each method to each student’s unique musical aspirations and background. Methods I can incorporate include music theory, ear training, fretboard theory, sight reading, chord vocabulary, songwriting, improvising, and fingerstyle techniques.
I believe in honoring each student’s individual voice to ensure their educational journey is both meaningful and expansive!
Whether you want to learn how to play your favorite songs, play with other musicians, or integrate music theory into your approach, I'm here to help. All ages and levels welcome!
