About Andres
I'm Andres! I was born in Venezuela and I'm 31 years old. Music has been my only real 'dream job' my entire life, so I'm very proud to be a full-time, self-employed musician.
I've been playing instruments since I was about 5 years old and taught myself the guitar when I was 15. I've been in bands since then and I'm an experienced band member and live performer, so can readily give advice on these areas.
Playing music live and teaching the guitar are my jobs, so I'm very passionate about them and love to teach others who want to be taught. If you've found my profile here, I'm guessing you are also passionate about music and want to learn the guitar because you love it!

My lessons are aimed at making you as self-sufficient a guitarist as you can be. I want you to understand the instrument (with time of course) so you can actually work things out for yourself over time. We can start from the absolute basics, including how to just make a sound out of the guitar (which can be difficult when you're starting), to learning chords, strumming and scales. We'll discuss your own taste in music and I'll try and find songs that will help you to focus on whatever skills we've been working on.
I like to give you the tools to be able to practise efficiently. Some basic theory, at least to start with, so you will actually understand what it is you are playing, rather than a 'do as I do' approach without actually explaining anything.
With more advanced players, we can get straight into the exciting stuff, including lead/rhythm playing, solos, scales, different techniques and licks. It all depends on what you're after and I look forward to our first lesson together!
