I've been trying to teach myself how to play the piano for what feels like an eternity via YouTube university and its been more frustrating than educational for me due to my learning style... I JUST started lessons with John and I am fully tapped in. He's made things like music theory and actually applying what we're learning on the piano way less intimidating than I originally felt. I'm having a lot of fun, we're focusing on music I absolutely love, and he finds amazing ways of explaining everything from theory to even deconstructing a song... Scheduling has been super flexible, the zoom lessons are very comfortable - he's funny and easy going so it makes for a very relaxed environment. He also leaves room for questions and makes sure he answers everything thoroughly. A bonus is that he always follows up after each session providing resources and recaps of what we worked on, so the material remains fresh in my mind and I can always go back and go over anything he's taught me in each session. response time is also super quick. 10/10 would recommend.

Perfect! John is probably one of the best teachers around here! He is methodical and his explanations are super clear. I really feel that I'm improving after each lesson and I'm always waiting to do the next class. He also sends me a lot of albums and songs about things we've been talking during our lessons and that makes a nice connection between what I'm study at the moment and how musicians apply them into their songs. If you want to learn jazz piano, John is the teacher you need!

I was overwhelmed by jazz piano for a long time but the way he explained it was exactly what I needed, and it’s finally making sense!!
