I have lived abroad in Canada and the United States for the past 20 years. In addition, as a versatile individual, I am highly regarded for extensive experience in classrooms, student-centric instructor, academic facilitator, and motivational coach who champions student achievements while promoting a safe and positive learning environment. Creates engaging lesson plans and integrates educational technology to drive retention, comprehension, and participation. Accomplished in building trust and meaningful relationships between students and parents. I have acquired both a Master of Music Degree and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance. Through these experiences, I have been fortunate enough to engage with a diverse group of individual students including children with autism. I am proficient in both English and Mandarin and have provided music instruction to students of varying age and skill levels.

My goal as a music educator is to bring all of my students into a lifelong appreciation for music, while solidifying that companionship with practical skills and true musicianship. In my music classrooms, I aim to help students achieve both an aesthetic and academic understanding of music, as well as, practical music skills. As a result, my curriculum focuses on all aspects of music performance, music literacy, and fine arts integration. Music education at the beginner's level can lay the groundwork for music literacy through a balance of activities in singing, instrument playing, note reading, ear training, and music history. I aim to engage and value the individual learning styles of my students, and optimize their potential by providing music activities that stimulate kinesthetic, visual, and auditory learners. As both a musician and a teacher, my goal is to share my own experiences and appreciation for music while helping to create a musically literate society of music consumers and performers for the next generation.

Carol is my daughter’s piano teacher since she was in grade 2! Learning the piano was one of the things that brought so much joy to my daughter at that age and I have Carol to thank for it! Carol was always so patient and kind to my daughter, and always knew how to motivate her! Whether this be positive feedback, high-fives, or giving my daughter stickers, she was always so enthusiastic to teach and I believe this is what made my daughter love piano so much. I could not have asked for a better person to teach piano to my little girl.
