With Fani, I went within months from being someone who could barely scratch the surface of an ancient text to one who now works his way through Plato, Thucydides, and others with a degree of comfort that I scarcely could have imagined when I started with her. She selects excellent teaching materials, guides me through oral readings of the texts, corrects me as I go, patiently explains grammatical and syntactical principles, and follows up with pointers to great sources for additional study. By all this, I have hugely improved in a very short time. Though I still stumble, often and sometimes foolishly, that is because materials are hardly easy. But, whatever the stumbling, I continue to show noticeable improvement lesson-by-lesson. There is nothing more one might ask for from a skilled tutor and she is as good a guide as one might hope for.
