About Tanvi

I am a student who is very interested in supporting community projects. Additionally, I enjoy reading and sports and having loads of fun with friends and family and strongly believe the importance of having a good network outside of academics. I always bring a positive and optimistic approach to my lessons.

About the lesson

I know, through first-hand experience, how overwhelming exams including GCSEs and A-Levels can be, and I aim to support your child through the following year to help them achieve their goals in a stress-free, empowering learning environment! My lessons tend to be 1 hr in length and am taking students for English, Maths and Science till GCSE level and Biology, Chemistry and Psychology students at A Level. I have been tutoring students over the past 2 years and have helped students achieve significant improvements in their GCSE grades. Having achieved 10 9s at GCSE and predicted 3 A stars at A-Level, I incorporate the revision strategies that I have learnt over the years into my tutoring. I ensure to make my lessons interactive e.g. using visuals to aid with their learning style. Additionally, I heavily focus on the fact that every student is different, thus I tend to tailor my sessions to the students’ goals: the areas you want to work on and the skills they want to develop. Throughout my sessions, I also integrate revision methods and techniques tailored to their learning style, which they can then practise and take away for independent study; I am passionate about sharing the advice and study tips I wish I had when I was going through it myself! In my first lesson, I would like to discuss the student’s learning methods so we can make our lessons as productive and impactful as possible. I encourage my students to make a list of difficult topics they would like to cover in the following lessons to make personalised lesson plans using a wide array of resources which I will always follow with some exam-styled questions. I will also discuss whether students have the time and feel comfortable doing some small homework tasks to hit the ground running for the next lesson. I tend to provide short starters which include questions about content learnt in the previous lesson to help consolidate their knowledge. I believe that exam technique is so essential for success and thus ensure that refining exam technique plays a huge role in our lessons when we complete topic questions.
