About Courtney
Recently completed my Bachelor of Psychology (Honors) at Monash University, culminating in an honors thesis exploring computational modeling of emotion valence and reinforcement learning. At The Turner Institute Cain Sleep Lab, I worked on the MELO Study (investigating individual differences in prolonged effects of melanopsin activity on sleep and cognition) and Creative Study (examining changes in language, creativity, and cognition under different light conditions).
I'm taking some time away from uni (to live!) before returning for my PhD in the field.
Sessions are goal-oriented and judgment-free, with diagnostics, practice, and feedback that builds real skills.

Lessons start with diagnostics to identify gaps, then progress to targeted practice (e.g., unpacking statistical analysis results before drafting a research paper). This ensures deep understanding over rote memorisation.
Lesson Structure and Length:
Typical sessions last 60 minutes: 10 mins review/goal-setting, 30-40 mins active analysis or writing, 10 mins feedback, questions, and homework.
Shorter 45 min intros available; longer 90-min deep dives for exam prep or uni assignments.
Qualifications and Experience:
Monash University Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) graduate. ATAR score of 94.6 from Darwin High School.
Thesis on computational modelling of emotion valence and reinforcement learning.
Turner Institute research internship (Cain Sleep Lab) handling participant recruitment, physiological data collection (actigraphy/polysomnography), cognitive task administration.
Statistical analysis experience with SPSS, JASP, R (most confident), Matlab, and Python
I've been tutoring high school students in Psychology for several years. I have also mentored younger students and peers through uni assignments and now offer structured support.
