About Kaylee
I am currently a UNF undergrad studying psychology! I moved to Jacksonville after graduating magna cum laude with my AA at Florida Gateway College - which is where I tutored!
Whilst my time tutoring at the college was cut short due to my moving, I still have had much prior experience! As a summer camp counselor for The Boy Scouts of America, I have been teaching and enabling skills in youth for four years.
I find teaching to be rewarding and have loved the opportunities to share knowledge and foster confidence.

-Half of English is learning and studying rules, the other half is fleshing out what you already know. In my teachings, I aim to be hands-on when learning the rules and hands-off when learners are prompted to use their minds.
-In my tutoring history, I have served at a college. Most students found great success in asking initial questions and then bouncing off of me to find the answers. Afterwards, I would let them work independently for about 30-45 minutes, occasionally checking in. Afterwards, I would proofread. If I noticed that they seemed uncomfortable in a particular subject, I would take about five to ten minutes to help explain the concept and provide resources. This is typically what my work has looked like. However, with my experience at a summer camp, I am very comfortable with a more traditional lesson for more tricky subjects such as citations or grammar!
-Being young and working at a summer camp works together for connecting with younger learners! I'm very comfortable in being friendly and fun whilst still ensuring a mentorship.
-My lessons are for anyone who needs help when it comes to writing in academics. From learning grammar rules, to APA and MLA.
