About Isabella
I’m a Berklee College of Music songwriting and performance student who has earned consistent honors in English and a score of 5 on the AP Lit exams I published three books by the time I was eleven and have been deeply involved in poetry. But I know school isn’t always easy.
I know what it’s like to be a student. I’ve succeeded in modern classrooms and can show students tips and tricks to excel in class under our current system. I understand the stress involved and with firsthand experience, can help minimize the burden by helping kids customize their learning style to fit THEIR needs. I work at their pace and no matter the academic obstacle at hand, together we can find a solution.

I help students see themselves in their reading and find their literary voice. Depending on their specific needs, I customize my teaching methods to help improve vocabulary, argumentative writing, literary analysis, etc by reconnecting them with their natural creativity.
Throughout high school, I helped my peers formulate convincing thesis statements and analyze complex poems by learning to empathize with the author and characters. English is all about humanity, and if we can see ourselves in what we read, it is easier to understand and explain the material…(and ace those assignments)!
I like to artistically simplify complex themes for students as well. During school, I condensed works of literature such as “Othello” and “Death of a Salesman” into songs to make the plots more comprehensible. I believe language is the most tangible form of magic everyone is capable of wielding. I work to instill a love and passion for English that is then reflected in the report card. I find that modern classrooms snuff the joys of learning by making content stiff and formulaic. I like to help people find the real-world value in their work to make academics more enjoyable, personalized, and applicable beyond the diploma.
