About Charlotte
I am a current master's student in Publishing at UCL with a passion for English literature and language. For my undergraduate degree in Spanish I was awarded a 2:1 therefore I also have a strong understanding of grammar, language, and learning second languages.
I have a wealth of experience teaching through carrying out 4 summers as a Student Host at an international summer school in Somerset.
Within this role I:
- Supported students learning English language (to a class of up to15 students)
- Supported students learning English literature (to a class of up to 15 students)
- Tutored one on one Spanish lessons up to GCSE level
I have experience analysing and writing essays on the following texts:
- The Bell Jar, Sylvia Plath
- Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger
- King Lear, William Shakespeare
- The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Mark Haddon
On average, I read 4-5 books a month and I am willing to read any texts which students are required to study!

As a tutor I like to gain a strong understanding of how students wish to approach the subject. Whether this be through presentations, reading and annotating, or through video aids I am more than happy to adapt my lessons to what the student would prefer. I like to plan lessons thoroughly around the themes and topics that need to be covered the most. With English Literature I will thoroughly read and research the text to ensure that I can advise students on how to approach essays from a well-researched perspective.
