About Sancha
In my spare time I enjoy: reading, particularly the works of Harlan Coben and Jodi Picoult; baking; singing; and keeping fit. From a young age, drama has been a huge passion of mine and I had the pleasure of teaching it during my first school experience placement. I have a huge passion for travelling and experiencing new people, places and cultures. I am a stronger believer in the idea that world is my oyster and am on a mission to travel to 30 different countries before the age of 30. This love for travelling led to me relocating to Dubai last year so that I could mix two things that I love the most - teaching and travelling! And the opportunity has provided me with the ability to subsequently travel to countries like Sri Lanka, during the school breaks.

Hello, I'm Sancha, an enthusiastic and dedicated English teacher with over 4 and a half years of experience in teaching secondary English in London and internationally in Dubai. The main portion of each lesson is tailored to the individual needs, abilities, and interests of each student, with a range of engaging activities designed to foster their specific strengths and address areas for improvement. Sessions conclude with a knowledge check to assess each student’s understanding of the lesson content. This allows me to identify any areas that may require revisiting before progressing to new topics, ensuring a solid foundation. Additionally, I create bespoke spelling lists for students who need extra spelling support and provide personalised reading lists to inspire a love of reading and build literacy confidence.

Every lesson is an invaluable experience for tutee.Sancha is an amazing English tutor, she really helped me with structuring paragraphs, writing techniques and making sure I was hitting criteria to make sure I was getting the top marks with my essays. I was able to use her for GCSEs and because I did so well I went on to use her for help with History A-levels which is a essay heavy subject and achieved top marks. Would fully recommend!!
