About Fiskin
Hi, my name is Fiskin Sears and I grew up in London, but now home is Sydney, Australia. I live here with my awesome wife and two crazy boys.
Before I became a teacher I had wonderful adventures studying, singing in a rock band, doing stand-up comedy and MCing shows, and writing and illustrating stories.
Teaching allowed me to put many of these skills together. I've now spent more than 20 years helping students like you to get the results they need to move on the the next big step on their journey. It's a wonderful way to make a living.

I have over two decades teaching EFL to students of all levels and from all kinds of countries and backgrounds. Since COVID, most of this has been online.
For over a decade I taught and tutored IELTS preparation courses for classes and individuals, both in classrooms and online. I have helped hundreds of students get past the obstacles in the path to their dreams - getting into uni for under- or post-graduate degrees, or starting a new working life in a new country. For this, we start with identifying the student's current level, and the level/score/results they need. From here we tailor the required tutoring to the restrictions of the exam in a very results-focused approach.
Since 2014 I have taught hundreds more young students get through the Academic English courses that will give them the skills and level they need for university, with a special focus on essay writing, presentations and citing sources. This is more about finding the student's own voice and applying it to the required academic conventions.
Lessons are typically an hour long and will focus on work that I have asked you to complete that we can correct and tailor to the results you are looking for.
