About Heather
I am a secondary school teacher who graduated from the Teach First programme as an Outstanding practitioner. I then studied History of Education/ history of the Holocaust at the University of Oxford for a Masters and a PhD. Significant experience teaching KS3, GCSE, iGSCE, A-Levels and undergraduate history. Specialism in Modern (20th Century) History.

My teaching philosophy is based on the concept of wonder. I believe students should do history rather than learn history, so I aim to provide them with the source based evidence and historiographical arguments for them to come to conclusions themselves and be able to argue like a historian. Building these skills are necessary to achieve top grades at GCSE, A-Level and university.

Heather is the type of teacher who really cares about her students progress.
She listens well and makes sure lessons meet the needs of the individual.
Her communication is excellent. Both in lesson and when making arrangements.
She has an excellent subject knowledge.
Her lessons are fun, well paced and thoughtful. For example she understood we needed some support with with writing structured essays and as such she adapted her resources and lessons to accomodate this.
