About Jack
Hi, I’m Jack – a guitarist and working musician with over 20 years experience playing classical, electric, and contemporary styles. Based in Camden, London, I split my time between teaching, performing, recording, and creating original music. I started learning guitar at a very young age and went on to study Contemporary and Popular Music at Newcastle University. Over the years, I've played everything from metal and prog to classical and flamenco – and I love helping others discover the joys of music and the guitar, whether you're picking it up for the first time or looking to develop into an advanced or professional musician. Outside of lessons, I work with music charities, contribute to various creative projects in recording and live environments, and gig around London. I also run my own teaching platform and website.

I help guitarists of all ages (8 – adult) and levels (complete beginner to gig-ready pro) develop confident, versatile technique across electric, acoustic and classical styles. My teaching approach: Personalised road-map: After a quick skill-check and chat about your goals, I design a step-by-step plan that balances technique, songs you love and creative tasks (improvisation, songwriting, recording). Hybrid method: I fuse tried-and-true classical exercises (to build clean fretting and right-hand control) with contemporary repertoire, modern tone-craft tips and ear-training games. Active learning: Expect play-along backing tracks, slow-down loops, mini-recording challenges and clear PDF sheets/Tab—everything stored in a shared Google Drive so you can revisit material anytime. Progress you can see: We set mini-milestones every few weeks (e.g., nailing chord changes at 90 bpm or performing a full song) and review them together so you always know what’s next. Lesson format & duration: Standard session: 60 minutes (most popular) Taster: 30 minutes at a discounted rate for first-timers Deep-dive: 90 minutes for advanced players, studio prep or theory-heavy topics Lessons run in Camden (home studio) or online — your choice each week. Qualifications & experience: BA (Hons) Contemporary & Popular Music – Newcastle University Conservatoire-level classical guitar training (ABRSM Grade 8 distinction) Private tutoring, workshops, and band coaching Guitarist for bands The Premiere, and Soul Vacation.
