About Tim

Over the last 20 years I have taught science at several good secondary schools across South Yorkshire.
More recently I have tutored maths and science across KS3 and KS4 often working with the same students throughout their secondary school life and supporting them to achieve the grades they deserve. This might be moving from a 6 to an 8 or 9, or getting someone from a grade 3 to that all-important 4.

Alongside teaching, I have worked in mental health supporting neurodivergent and anxious young people get the support they need to succeed. As such, I have knowledge and experience at engaging and motivating all learners regardless of their individual needs.

About the lesson

With over four years of tutoring at GCSE and below I have a proven track record of helping students improve their grades. I provide tailored support to build confidence, strengthen understanding and help each student achieve their full potential.
Lessons are typically an hour long.

Tim was a fantastic tutor for my daughter. His calm and friendly approach along with good listening skills ensured she felt comfortable and was able to discuss the areas she needed support in. Tim was very well organised and managed to cover all areas in all 3 science subjects in a limited time. The tuition resulted in her gaining confidence as she began to really enjoy the subjects and also led to a significant improvement in her grades.
