About Shanthie
I'm a teacher, tutor, environmental educator, and a Mum. It is a real joy to see students overcoming obstacles to reach their potential and achieve excellent results. I explore how individual students learn and identify their learning styles to inform my approach to teaching. I make lessons fun and interesting, with a mix of teaching new concepts, playing games to reinforce learning, and using technology.

I tailor lessons for individual students, focusing on their learning styles, needs, and interests. I'm an experienced tutor and primary teacher and have been helping students learn for over 20 years. I'm available for online tutoring in Maths, English, and Science. I have in-depth knowledge and experience teaching the NZ Curriculum and many years tutoring at different levels from Year 1-10 and adults. My lessons are 1 hour long and include a variety of teaching methods. The first lesson will be provided free, where I will meet you and do an initial assessment. During the next lesson, I provide a more detailed assessment of where the student is at, so we can design a suitable learning programme. During a regular lesson, we start with warm-ups and aims of the lesson, then move on to fun exercises, talking through examples, games, and practice. Then we review and discuss next steps. I regularly report on progress and listen to feedback to alter lessons accordingly. I love working with people and enjoy getting to know students and their families to achieve great things together :-)
