About Kimberley
I fell in love with drama when I was a teenager. It was at a time when I was struggling to communicate my thoughts and feelings to my parents or teachers and I was really struggling emotionally. I attended a drama class that changed my life. Being able to use a character to express myself was liberating. I was able to vocalise everything I want to say, without the fear of being judged. I was able to take that to the next level when I became a writer, now I feel confident expressing my thoughts and feelings as myself. I used to have dreams of becoming a professional actor, but since finding teaching I realise now that I get more emotional fulfilment from watching other people realise their dreams and their "aha!" moments.
What I enjoy most about teaching is the collaboration between student and teacher, successful outcomes can only be reached if both parties have aligning objectives and are willing to put in the effort to achieve goals.

I have been teaching part-time at a variety of performing arts schools and schools around Cape Town for the past seven years, including; The Waterfront Theatre School, LAMTA, The Drama Factory, St Cyprians, Herzlia, & Stepping Stones Montisorri School. I am comfortable teaching a wide range of age groups from 6 year olds up to adults. I am trained in Drama & Musical Theatre, and completed my Licentiate in: Teaching Speech & Drama in 2014 with Distinction. My other job includes being a script-writer and theatre director, which feeds my passion for storytelling and communication. If you're looking to build confidence in public speaking and communicating, or you're looking to follow your dream of becoming a professional performer, or you need help preparing for your drama exams and eisteddfod's, or maybe you are an actor looking to keep your craft sharp. I am able to assist you where-ever your goals lie. As a teacher I like to set intentions and achievable goals, and focus on working towards those objectives with creativity and energy.
