I hold a master's degree in arts with a specialization in the analysis and criticism of arts and media. I have years of experience creating various works in mixed media visual arts, including drawing, painting, photography, bookbinding, clay work, and digital art, having been creating since childhood. I have three years of experience teaching arts, crafts, and media literacy to secondary school students.
At the beginning of my time with new students, I take the time to understand their general life passions, particular interests in the arts, and creative aspirations. I also assess their current drawing level. Based on this information, I select learning methods and techniques tailored to their needs, creating a series of lessons around a particular topic.
I believe that being an artist requires more than just technical drawing skills. An artist must also be able to understand and analyze works of art, as well as articulate their own artistic and aesthetic choices. Therefore, my classes always include historical and cultural context, analysis of various artists' works, and reflection on the student's own work at the end of each class.
I specialize in teaching drawing across various styles and genres, encompassing both realistic techniques like shading, perspective, and proportions, and the creative adaptation of these rules to develop unique, individual works and visual storytelling. Additionally, I teach a range of crafting techniques, including handmade notebooks, glass painting, woodworking, collage art, and more.
