About Alexandra
With 8 years of drumming and a Bachelor’s in World Percussion, I bring global musical influences into my lessons. I’ve studied and performed rhythms from many cultures. This diversity shapes my teaching approach and musical philosophy. Students learn both traditional and contemporary techniques. My lessons combine discipline with artistic freedom. I help students build strong control, timing, and musical awareness. You’ll learn to appreciate rhythm as a universal language. I welcome learners of all skill levels. Lessons are tailored to your style and goals. My environment is open, encouraging, and challenge-driven. I guide students through effective practice habits. We explore different genres to build versatility. I love watching students grow into expressive musicians. Consistency and creativity are key aspects of my teaching. My drum lessons are designed to provide a complete and balanced learning experience, combining technical mastery, musicality, creativity, and practical performance skills. Each lesson is personalized to the student’s level and goals, whether they are beginners developing foundational skills, intermediate drummers improving technique and coordination, or advanced players preparing for performances or studio work. Lessons cover timing, hand independence, stick control, groove, dynamics, rhythm reading, expressive phrasing, and ensemble skills.
I incorporate structured exercises, song practice, play-alongs, improvisation, and collaborative activities to ensure lessons are engaging and practical. Students receive guidance on effective practice routines, goal setting, and ways to track progress for consistent improvement. My teaching environment is supportive, patient, and motivating, allowing learners to explore creativity, take risks, and develop confidence. Lessons emphasize listening, musical analysis, and practical application, helping students play confidently solo or in groups. Students develop technical proficiency, coordination, musicality, and expressive ability while cultivating their own unique style.
Milestones are celebrated to maintain motivation and a sense of accomplishment. Each lesson balances structure with creativity, ensuring learning is fun, productive, and inspiring.
