About Hayato
My name is Hayato,
I'm Japanese by blood, born in the US, living in Melbourne.
During my travels, I've met so many people who speak mediocre textbook or TV show / anime based Japanese. They are actually great at listening, but cannot express well.
Why? Well, most lacked speaking practice because they don't have someone to practice with.
So I started conversing with them regularly. Results? More confidence, less errors, picking up slang (a lot of informal Japanese is slang based), and being a lot more fluent in Japanese.
I won't teach you textbook Japanese speaking, that's not practical. You will learn the Japanese we actually use.

We will choose a topic of conversation with a few prompts, the goal is to have a casual conversation around the topic. Every few minutes, we will review expressions and sentences that can be improved in your speaking to sound more fluent.
We start from 15minutes, build up to 30minutes each session.
Japanese is a complex language, but the more you speak and make mistakes, the better you'll get.
I cater for any age, generally intermediate to advanced speakers who would like to improve their listening and speaking skills for both personal and business purposes.
