About Silk
I am a classical pianist and have been playing since age 4, I have been giving tutoring lessons from my music centre casually since I was about 14, but have been offering private lessons since age 16, and I am currently studying medical science at UTS.

I think it is very important for everyone to have at least a basic appreciation for music of all genres and so I am open to teaching anyone who is interested. Typically, I split my lessons in half with pieces & scales, but depending on where the students' strengths are, I'll modify it if need be; I also like to get to know the student so I can see what approach would work best & try to augment the lesson so it caters specifically to the student's learning methods (everyone learns differently!), & I like to take a gentle but honest approach to help my students improve efficiently and without too much stress, while also giving credit where it is due.

Details
My rate depends on the students' age and/or grade as older students are able to stay focused and absorb more information than younger ones. Typically, I charge a dollar a minute. I also have a cancellation fee of $15.
