About Grace
I am a recent Bryn Mawr College Graduate, with an English major and minor in educational studies. I eventually hope to achieve my master's and certification for teaching elementary school! As an education minor, I have had multiple praxis experiences that have led me to tutoring and assistant teaching students, from elementary to high school ages. I worked for two years to teach individuals with intellectual disabilities living and work skills. I later worked as a teaching fellow at Breakthrough, where I taught four different 7th-grade writing classes. Additionally, peers have asked for my tutoring help, and I have assisted them as well.

I prefer to teach through a democratic methodology. I try to avoid lecturing whenever possible and enjoy learning from my students as much as they can learn from me. Therefore, I encourage open discussions, open-ended questioning, choices in curriculum, and student-led activities or lessons. I consider students as scholars who deserve my respect, patience, and listening. I also believe in progressive and universal design learning, in that learning should be accessible to everyone and that it is my responsibility and the collective class's responsibility to make an accepting environment for learning.
