About Charles

As a magna cum laude History graduate from the University of San Diego and an incoming Master of Education student, I bring both academic excellence and a deep passion for teaching. My experience leading campus organizations and tutoring peers has equipped me with the communication skills, patience, and professionalism needed to help students thrive. I approach each lesson with preparation, positivity, and a commitment to meeting students where they are. You can trust that I’ll create a respectful, encouraging learning environment focused on building both confidence and academic success. Your goals are my priority, and I’m here to help you reach them.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor centers on making Social Studies engaging, relatable, and student-driven. I use a mix of guided discussion, real-world examples, and active questioning to encourage critical thinking and connection to the material. A typical lesson begins with a quick review, followed by interactive instruction tailored to the student’s current curriculum or goals—whether it’s improving essay writing, preparing for an AP exam, or understanding complex historical concepts. I also include reflection questions to reinforce understanding. What sets me apart is that, as a recent graduate, I’m close in age to my students, which helps me communicate in a way they connect with. My lessons are ideal for middle school, high school, and early college students looking for a supportive, clear, and culturally informed approach to Social Studies.

As a recent graduate and passionate tutor, I help students connect with Social Studies through relatable, engaging lessons that make history relevant, understandable, and enjoyable—perfect for middle
