Objective: Help the student refine and optimize their resume for clarity, professionalism, and alignment with career goals.
Lesson Structure:
5 minutes - Introduction:
Discuss the student's career objectives and the purpose of their resume (e.g., job application, internship, etc.).
10 minutes - Resume Overview:
Review the current resume structure, identifying key areas for improvement in formatting, content, and style.
20 minutes - Section-by-Section Editing:
Focus on enhancing the impact of experience descriptions by emphasizing accomplishments and quantifiable results.
Ensure skills, certifications, and other sections are relevant and effectively highlighted.
10 minutes - Tailoring Tips:
Provide guidance on tailoring the resume for specific roles by incorporating relevant keywords and aligning content with job descriptions.
5 minutes - Final Adjustments and Next Steps:
Make final edits, answer any questions, and outline a plan for further revisions, such as preparing for cover letters or interviews.
(2) Elementary-Level English Tutoring Session*
Objective: Support the student in improving reading comprehension and basic writing skills through engaging activities.
Lesson Structure:
5 minutes - Warm-Up:
Brief discussion to connect with the student and introduce the reading material.
15 minutes - Reading:
Take turns reading a short story or passage aloud to practice fluency and comprehension.
10 minutes - Discussion:
Review key story elements (characters, setting, plot) and ask questions to check understanding.
10 minutes - Writing Activity:
Simple writing or drawing exercise related to the story to reinforce comprehension.
5 minutes - Review and Wrap-Up:
Summarize key takeaways and assign a small reading or writing task for next time.
