About Fara
Hello! My name is Fara, and I am a recent graduate from MIT with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Economics. I have a lot of writing experience and have developed an individual, peer-reviewed research paper. A significant portion of my academic success can be attributed to the excellent teachers I had throughout my life. I have experience tutoring American history with a small group of 2-3 students in middle school. In this experience, I focused on engagingly presenting the information and ensuring retention. I have also worked as a teaching assistant with late elementary age to middle school students for months on developing math skills. In this experience, I worked with students one-on-one to supplement classroom instruction. Additionally, I have worked with high school students individually on writing skills and editing. I enjoy teaching history, developing writing skills/proofreading, and helping students develop an interest in math at an early level.

The ability to work one-on-one with various teachers was a large part of having an enjoyable learning experience. From this, I believe the first step is working with parents and students regarding their goals and what areas they seek to improve. From this, I develop tailored lesson plans to a student's needs. Additionally, if a particular method of teaching a subject or topic is not working for a student, I believe in the importance of trying a new method for the student to connect with the material. I also ensure to give students the foundation to work independently and ask questions to tackle whatever issues arise.
