About Philip
I have a secondary credential in English language Arts which is registered with the California commission on teaching credentials. I recently supplemented my retirement income through substitute work and test proctoring in the Alhambra School district, but the pandemic has drawn that episode to a close.
My retirement was as early as possible. Have no fears. Dementia usually doesn’t occur in your 50’s. I am intimately aquatinted with the material and know how to communicate. I like to keep a sense of humor and a relaxed atmosphere in a classroom and that would apply to zoom or FaceTime set-up as well. I do not compromise on standards or any measurements of mastery, however.

I work with students at a high school level. Instruction includes direct instruction, practice, followed by assessments and follow up. Each student is different. His or her mastery of material will take a unique trail of efforts depending on prior knowledge and omissions in original skill acquisitions. I read with students and write alongside them.
