About Blyth
I am a dedicated Piano tutor with more than 19 years of teaching experience, working with students of all ages—from school children to college learners and working professionals. My focus is to help students develop strong technical skills, musical understanding, and confidence while enjoying the journey of learning piano.
My teaching philosophy is centred on patience, clear instruction, and consistent progress. I emphasise finger technique, hand coordination, rhythm, sight reading, and music theory while encouraging creativity, self-expression, and musical exploration. Lessons are explained in simple English and reinforced with exercises, familiar songs, and demonstrations to make learning both effective and enjoyable.
I design lessons to fit each student’s pace, goals, and learning style. For children, lessons are interactive and enjoyable; for adults and professionals, sessions are structured, goal-oriented, and flexible. I also provide guidance on effective home practice, performance preparation, and exam readiness.
Many students have performed successfully, passed graded exams, and developed a lifelong passion for piano. Watching students grow musically and achieve their goals is the most rewarding part of my teaching.

I teach with compassion, supportiveness, and clear communication. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed when guided in a supportive and encouraging environment. In piano lessons, I focus on both technical mastery and creative expression, helping students improve their skills while building confidence and enjoying music.
I break lessons into structured, manageable steps, provide demonstrations, and encourage questions, practice, and exploration. Constructive feedback and positive reinforcement help students stay motivated, engaged, and confident.
I also teach other relevant subjects using the same flexible and student-centred methodology. My goal is to help students achieve their goals, grow academically and creatively, and enjoy a lifelong journey of learning and self-expression.
