About Allie
I have a bachelor's degree in biomedical science, with minors in chemistry and military science. I also completed the first year of medical school.
My experience includes formal training as a college supplemental instructor, which enabled me to mentor students in general chemistry 1 and 2, organic chemistry 1 and 2, and genetics at the university level.
Other unique training and experience:
Both one-on-one and group-based teaching experience.
Experience in teaching in person and online via webcam.
Training and work with students with diverse circumstances (ie. learning disabilities, autism, coping with extra-curricular hardships such as catching up after a severe illness, pregnancy, loss of a loved one, etc.)
Work experience in 2nd-grade level through upper division college courses.

Chemistry is my true passion, but it hasn't always been.
My enthusiasm and love for science guide my teaching. I have learned through my own academic challenges, and I'm sure you'll agree, that the attitude of your instructor strongly affects the efficiency and depth of learning, as well as retention of the information learned. Therefore, my mission is to first help resolve negative stigmas (a failed test or class, problems related to the teaching style, etc.) relating to the subject for the purpose of starting fresh and setting attainable yet challenging goals to exceed.
I strongly believe in the benefits of peer-based learning. This can be accomplished by scheduling a group tutoring session either with someone in your class or, if available, another student of mine seeking assistance in the same area.
**Please don't hesitate to contact me, regardless of whether you're seeking one-on-one tutoring or group tutoring. I have a successful track record in both. Ultimately, everyone learns differently in their own unique style, so there is no one size fits all teaching method. Successful teaching is accomplished through open communication between the learner and facilitator, and both parties being open to trying new approaches. You know your own learning preferences better than anyone else, so I always ask for your feedback so that if a study tool works well for you, we can use it to our advantage, or when something isn't working for you or isn't stimulating, we can take it into consideration in the future so that we don't continue to use a tool that isn't useful for you.
