About Sébastien
I am a research scientist in cancer biology with more than 13 years of research experience in embryology, molecular biology, and genomics, using both experimental and computational approaches. I am also passionate about teaching and love to help others learn about biology, from the basics to understanding experiments and analyzing data.
My previous teaching experiences include mentoring middle-school students for science fair projects in West Philadelphia, teaching biology to undergraduate students at the University of Pennsylvania, designing a biology course for the University of the People, facilitating learning circles with Peer to Peer University, and teaching data science workshops with Data Carpentry.
Through these various experiences, I have learned to adapt my teaching to diverse audiences while creating a welcoming environment encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and problem solving.

During our first meeting, we will discuss your goals and the best way to achieve them based on your learning preferences.
Lessons may be a blend of questions and answers, discussions around purposefully selected documents, custom exercises, and live coding (if you are interested in data science).
In any case, I think learning should be a joyful experience and my focus will be on building learning habits that will accompany you in your everyday life.
