About Steve
I’ve been making music professionally for most of my life—as a guitarist, songwriter, producer, and recording engineer. I’ve learned that great musicians aren’t the ones who know the most theory—they’re the ones who know how to make people feel something.
That’s the philosophy I bring to every lesson. We’ll learn by playing real music, breaking down songs you love, developing technique in context, and exploring what makes great guitar parts work. If you’re a songwriter, we’ll also focus on one of the hardest parts of the process: turning good ideas into finished songs.
I’ve written, played and produced award-winning music and have spent decades helping artists turn ideas into finished recordings.

My lessons are built around the music you want to play and create. Whether your goal is to learn classic and modern rock guitar, write original songs, or become a more confident musician, every lesson is personalized to your interests.
We’ll learn songs by breaking them down into the techniques, chords, rhythms, and musical ideas that make them work. Along the way, you’ll develop your ear, improve your playing, and learn practical skills you can use immediately.
If you’re a songwriter, we’ll go beyond simply learning guitar. We’ll explore arrangement, melody, structure, and the creative process of turning ideas into finished songs. One of the biggest obstacles for many musicians isn’t starting songs—it’s finishing them. I’ll help you develop the tools and confidence to take your ideas all the way to the finish line.
Lessons are ideal for adults and teens, from beginners with some basic experience to intermediate players looking to take the next step.
