About Emre
PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Born in Turkey, 1988, Emre Gokalp is an award winning classical guitarist who is currently living in London. He started participating in master classes and winning prizes in international competitions from the age of 10.

Since 1998, Emre has benefited from master classes offered in guitar festivals given by internationally famous virtuosos and pedagogues such as Alirio Diaz, David Russell, Fabio Zanon, Julian Byzantine, Tilman Hoppstock, Gary Ryan, Pavel Steidel, Carlos Bonell and many others.

He began to study classical guitar with Professor Ahmet Kanneci at 8 years old. Thanks to his successful application and scholarship from the Borusan Kocabıyık Foundation, he has graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, Master of Arts programme with DipRAM and Frank Britton Prize in 2014.

He has won several prizes in international guitar competitions around the world since 1999 and most recently won the "1st International Guitar Competition Paris Guitar Foundation" in 2016.

He has performed in various music festivals and competitions in Turkey, Bulgaria, Armenia, France, Spain, Italy, United Kindgdom, United States of America and many others.

He has been teaching classical and acoustic guitar for over 20 years now. He has worked with countless students from the age of 4 to 70 from beginner to advanced. Most of his students completed their exams with “Distinction” in all grades by RGT, LCM, Trinity, ABRSM and others.

- 25 years of experience in performing/teaching.
- Graduated from the Royal Academy of Music.
- Won prizes in prestigious international competitions.
I had a lot of students from all levels/ages (beginner to advanced) from all around the world. I have thought the ABRSM, Trinity/Guildhall and RGT Acoustic Syllabus and had many casual students as well. I always try my best to discover every student individually. I don’t have a fixed method but have a lot of material and experience in teaching that would meet a student's specific needs. Looking forward to hearing from you!
