About Siobhan
I’m a former Head of Creative Arts and professional actor with over 30 years combined experience in theatre, TV, film and the classroom. (scroll down for some film clips)
As an actor I spent two seasons with the Royal Shakespeare Company, performed at the Royal Court and Shakespeare’s Globe, and worked regularly with director Katie Mitchell. On screen I played Rotten Rose in three series of the BAFTA-winning Maid Marian and Her Merry Men and appeared in a range of UK television dramas and soaps.
I spent sixteen years as a secondary school teacher, specialising in GCSE and A-level Drama and Film Studies, as well as the LAMDA exams in Acting and Speaking in Public. I have a strong track record in helping students improve their grades, building confidence and having fun in the process. I’ve taught students with a very wide range of needs, including many who are anxious, neurodiverse or who’ve fallen out of love with school.
Alongside teaching I continue to write and direct. My debut feature screenplay, Monica Ole, won the Women in Film & Television / Avalon Screenwriting Award and was produced as a feature film. I’ve written for CBBC's Boo! and the BAFTA-winning BBC series ChuckleVision. I have also directed plays nationally and internationally, and my schemes of work are regularly published by educational presses.
I’m available during the day for home-educated students, as well as after school. I have particular experience supporting young people with additional needs, low confidence or school-based anxiety and I use a mix of strategies, with fun and gentle humour to the fore, to coax the best from them. What matters most to me as a tutor is that each student feels understood, supported and stretched at the right pace – whether they’re aiming for top grades, drama school, LAMDA related UCAS points, or simply a happier relationship with learning and performing that supports their overall wellbeing, not just their exam results.

What makes my lessons different
Confidence first
I use warmth, humour and clear steps so anxious or quieter learners feel safe enough to join in and improve.
Neurodiversity-aware & SEND/EHCP experienced
I often work with neurodiverse students and those who struggle with school-based anxiety. I break work into small, manageable stages, build in recap, and offer alternatives to long written answers.
Visual and resource-rich
I don’t just talk at students on Zoom. I use resources I’ve created myself
short revision films
scene/shot breakdown videos
visual notes and knowledge organisers
quick-fire quizzes
Exam-smart, but human
I translate the spec into simple structures, model answers and regular practice, without losing the creativity and enjoyment of the subject.

Siobhan is an outstanding drama teacher, her excellent coaching led my son to score 98% in his LAMDA grade 8 exam. He proceeded join the National Youth Theatre and subsequently went on to drama school, and always speaks very highly of his time working with Siobhan.
Siobhan was amazing with my ASD son throughout his GCSE Drama, Film Studies and then his A-level Drama. She had to go over things with him multiple times, she was so patient and helped him enormously with his confidence, so he was able to do LAMDA up to grade 8.
I had Siobhan as my secondary school drama teacher for GCSE and A-Level drama. Her hilarious anecdotes, insightful advice, and irreplaceable guidance have led me to a membership at the National Youth Theatre and onto a BA in Applied and Contemporary Theatre at Guildford School of Acting
Siobhan is a talented and caring teacher. She has the natural ability to bring out any child's talents and help them to grow. My daughter has developed greatly under her guidance and teaching. She is enthusiastic and passionate about her work and comes highly recommended by myself and my daughter.
Miss fogarty was one of the best teachers I had. I always looked forward to drama class as they were fun and enjoyable and she was enthusiastic all the time. She was always there to help with any problems I had, and helped me grow my confidence greatly. Miss fogarty put her heart and soul into teaching and inspiring people to be creative. Some of the best moments of my teenage years were onstage as part of the plays that she directed in after school drama classes, in particular I loved her version of our house with music from madness.
I learned alot from miss fogarty, from script writing to acting techniques and directing a show, I'm very happy to have been one of her students! Thanks to her I am now acting in my own films and doing live music and horror theatre.Siobhan is a natural teacher. She has a unique ability to devise imaginative, dynamic lessons for her students who will both have fun and learn in her classes. Siobhan was previously my head of department - she guided me through my teacher training with such care and attention, ensuring that I was fully supported, and I learnt a lot from her. She inspired confidence in my ability, just as she does with her students. I often observed Siobhan's classes - and also taught alongside her in a drama youth group she ran, so I could see first hand just how respected she was by her students. It is clear she loves teaching and works tirelessly to create differentiated and interesting lesson plans. She is an excellent tutor who cares about her students' well-being and education. I cannot recommend highly enough!
Siobhan is lovely and kind. She has always made my daughter feel very welcome when she first started doing drama and has always given her great advice and support. She always has lots of good ideas and games to play to help the children develop. I would highly recommend Siobhan.
I met Siobhan when she was playing Rotten Rose in the BBC series Maid Marion and her Merry Men quite a few years ago now. She was dynamic, funny and smart then and still is today! She was an imaginative and committed actor and brings those qualities to the classroom as a teacher of both drama and film with years of experience. Her classes are never formal, dull or dry. She gets the best out of people with her infectious enthusiasm and love of life. She invests fully in what she does and will tutor in such a way that will make it both a fun and fulfilling experience. I’ve been an actor for many years, if I was starting out now I can think of no-one better to teach me drama than Siobhan.
Siobhan is a great teacher, always helpful and enthusiastic, also she is honest and forthright with her constructive feedback and encouragement. She is always able to push her students to achieve more than they realise they can. My son thoroughly enjoys his lessons with her. He has ASD and ADD and her confident style strikes a positive chord with him.
