About Ruth
I have taught a wide range of students over the past few years. I have given children as young as 6 their first lessons, prepared young people for exams, diplomas and A-Level Recitals, and taught adults taking up an instrument for the first time. I currently teach Flute, Fife, Recorder and Piano at a Prep School, Secondary School and Music Service. Previously I have taught individual Music Theory lessons at the prestigious Purcell School of Music.
I was awarded a scholarship to study flute performance at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, graduating with a First Class Honours Degree in 2016. I have studied/received masterclasses from many famous flute players, and continue to perform around London/the UK primarily as an Orchestral Musician. As a pianist, I was awarded a Distinction at ABRSM Grade 8.

I deliver fun and challenging lessons in Flute, Piano and Music Theory at all levels and to ages. As a young professional musician, I bring my passion and performance experience into teaching and love to share my joy of music with my students.
My belief is that every student responds differently to a variety of styles and methods of teaching, and therefore tailor my tuition to suit each individual. I can prepare and enter students wishing to take ABRSM/Trinity Exams, or explore a wide range of music with those taking lessons simply for pleasure.
