I offer classes online via Zoom and i also offer face to face lessons in Birmingham.
For students sitting the 11+ or other selective school entrance tests i cover Maths, Verbal, Non Verbal and creative writing.
As the topics that are assessed in the exam are not covered by the school curriculum and students often come to me at various levels, I offer a free consultation in which I typically get each student to do a free assessment before we begin our lessons so i know exactly what level they are working on, what they need help with and give parents an idea of how much work they would have to put in to pass.
After the assessment and consultation, i create a learning plan and bring all the resources required for the lesson, provide homework and offer feedback after each session. I have found that the best performing students are those who have parents who are actively involved in their child's learning so i keep an open channel of communication with the parents.
For KS3/ GCSE students, I ask students to send me a topic list that comprises of what they are struggling with and use that as the basis for our lessons. My methodology is focused on efficiency, so if students are struggling with homework or assignments or know exactly what they would like to go through i ask for them to drop me a message before the lesson so i have the correct resources prepared and can crack on with the lesson with no time wasted.
